Quién soy yo? Who am I?
¡Hola! I'm Profe Hoffman and this is my eleventh year teaching Spanish. I love being a part of the Jackson family of teachers and students!
I started learning Spanish in high school and have been reading, writing, listening and speaking the language ever since! I am originally from Little Falls, MN, where I had the opportunity to travel to Argentina for about a month through the Spanish program. Since then, my travel experiences in Spanish-speaking countries include time in Chile, Argentina, Peru, Puerto Rico, Guatemala, and Mexico. I look forward to adding more countries to the list!
I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and Secondary Education at the College of Saint Benedict in 2009 and my master's degree in Teaching and Learning through Saint Mary's University in 2014. At home, I love to spend time with my husband, Chris, and our baby daughter Greta. We also love our goofy dog, Vinni, the Italian greyhound.
Spanish-speaking countries I have traveled to: Chile, Argentina, Perú, Guatemala, Puerto Rico, and Mexico.
Other Countries I have traveled to: Italy, Ireland, and a bunch of Caribbean islands on a cruise!
In my classroom, I love to share stories about my experiences with travel and language. My hopes for my students are that they are open to becoming citizens of the world, never stop dreaming, and always set their goals high. Learning a second language opened up so many opportunities for me. I know the sky is the limit for Jackson students!
